Protect a child...

I wanted to do a quick but very IMPORTANT post on something that does not get enough serious thought by most people.

So here it goes...how many of you know about Pertussis, also known as whooping cough? How many of you know how serious it really is? If you have children or are around children a lot you need to know that a baby is not fully covered by their DTaP vaccine (Pertussis booster) until they are fully done with the doses which is not until 15-18 months. Also a baby who has not yet been vaccinated can not only catch Pertussis but Pertussis can also be fatal to an infant. Did you also know that in majority of cases a child catches Pertussis from their parents.

Then talk to your child's pediatrician for information on how to protect your child. Visit your doctor and get a Pertussis booster. That one vaccine will help to protect you children, grandchildren, or any child who is in your life. Protect someone who cannot yet fully protect themselves.
